Andreas Eger

I’m a Principal Software Engineer and Software Architect based in Vienna — though my roots are in Germany. I cut my teeth on Ruby, and while my professional focus has evolved to other ecosystems, I still carry that appreciation for code elegance and developer happiness with me.

Even away from work, I remain a tech enthusiast at heart, often tinkering with new tools or curating photos. I balance this screen time with rowing and calisthenics. Every couple of years I head out on an extended journey, with highlights including South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and Tanzania. These trips allow me to explore new cities and cultures through travel and street photography, or to get into the ocean on scuba or a single breath. And through it all, I believe life is too short for bad coffee.
